Casa Cari in Puerto de la Cruz
The holiday flat "Casa Cari" is situated on the calm side of the peninsula, facing Africa's coast. From both patios and the living-rooms and bedrooms, you only see the horizon and the sea, which sweeps rhythmically right up to the house (depending on the tide). Mostly it spares a sandy beach which sometimes also turns into a small dune. During periods of rough weather, this 'house-beach' may sometimes disappear. Then you have to lie on the stones or vulcanic rocks. You may also use the adjacent beach of the village or other bays. You can enjoy all the ado or just the waves, the seagulls, dolphins or herons from the terraces. We guarantee you'll hardly hear anything but the sound of the sea and have an unspoilt view of the horizon.
'Casa Cari' is faced with a sandy coloured natural stone helping to blend itself into the character of the region.

Location/surroundings:
The house "Casa Cari" is situated on the southernmost point of Fuerteventura, on Faro de Jandia in the small fishing village "Puerto de la Cruz", also called "Puertito", on a peninsula surrounded by the sea in a nature park. For this reason, the coast and the inland is unspoilt and the road between Puertito and Morro Jable is only a broad gravel road (approx. 20 km long).
Puertito is a small fishing village where locals spend their weekends, public holidays or summer holidays in order to enjoy the fishing, beach life and the local cuisine in the little town's three bars. Even if it's a little livelier during these periods - unlike the usual tranquility - the house is located so protected in the stone pit below the village so that you hardly notice what happens in town.
Puertito has no shops but only three bars: Bar Tenderete, Bar Punta de Jandia, and Bar El Caleton. You can eat out in all of them. In Bar Tenderete, you also get staple foods as well as ice cream, sweets, drinks, and cigarettes. The best place for shopping, however, is in Morro Jable. There's a big supermarket which offers fresh food from the entire world.

Transfer:
After departing the airport, follow the road signs "Morro Jable/Jandia" southwards. When you approach Morro Jable, you first pass various hotel resorts with their shopping centres. Then the road ascends and forks: on the right a ring road leads to the port, on the left the road leads to Morro Jable via a (mini)roundabout. Follow the road on the right-hand side. Before you reach the port, there's a broad, asphalted turnoff on the right-hand side with the sign "Punta" or "Faro de Jandia". This road is a gravel road. Follow the road straight on for almost 20 km.
After approx. 12 km, there's a turnoff to the right with the sign "Cofete". Ignore Cofete and keep left. Here you can already see the lighthouse and the windmill of Puertito.
After another 7 km, the road suddenly gets asphalted for a few hundred metres. Then an accumulation of houses appears (=Puertito). As soon as you pass the windmill, you enter the village and stop at the bar "El Caleton", which is situated on the seaside. Pepe or Dolores will welcome you there and hand you the keys over. After a journey of about 1,5 hours, you can now relax in this surreal place in the middle of nowhere. "Bienvenidos"!
