Oasis Park in La Lajita
"Oasis Park" in La Lajita is a diversified nature paradise of about 780.000 sqm. "Oasis Park" is situated in the south of Fuerteventura and offers a lot: zoo, camel safaris, a botanical garden with many tropical plants, animal shows and a great deal more.
If you drive along Fuerteventura's main road (FV2), you can't miss the Oasis Park. On the FV2 between Tarajalejo and Costa Calma, there's one section where the central reservation is planted with colourful flowers and where you can see many palm trees, green bushes and trees on both sides of the road. Here is the Oasis Park in La Lajita. There's also a huge colourful sign which shows the way.
Oasis Park is divided into a zoo, a botanical garden, and a camel safari station. In the park there are 3 restaurants where you can have lunch, a souvenir shop, a garten centre, playgrounds for children and toilets with baby changing units. Furthermore, there's a gratis "Jungle Bus" for all visitors, which shuttles between the botanical garden and the zoo every 10 minutes.
The zoo harbours about 250 animal breeds. Special attractions of the "Oasis Park" are different animal shows such as the parrot show, the sea lion show, the reptile show or the bird of prey show.
If you love nature and plants, you must visit the botanical garden with its many palm trees, cacti, and tropical plants.
Another thing you can do is a camel safari. The safari, however, is not included in the entrance fee.
Directions and parking:
Access to the park directly from the FV2 between Tarajalejo and Costa Calma. If you arrive by car, you can park for free in the zoo area.
By bus: Buses nos 1, 5, 25 run from Morro Jable and buses nos 1, 6, 10 from Corralejo to the park.
