ALT: La Lajita on Fuerteventura

Information about the town of La Lajita

The fishermen's village with about 1.500 inhabitants is part of the municipal district of Pajara. Driving southbound on the FV 2 La Lajita will attract attention because you feel like driving through an oasis with the palm trees and flowers on both sides of the road. Since having a zoo (Oasis Park), a botanic garden and the opportunity to do a safari on camels, the town is a great change to the typical beach holiday. The Oasis Park also has a restaurant, a souvenier shop and many animal shows so that you can spend the whole afternoon there.

History

Originally La Lajita is a small fishermen's village that has changed over the years (because of the Oasis-Park among other reasons) into a tourist town.
