Actually we booked the car at "Record Rent a Car" - we have known the company from holidays on Tenerife and Lanzarote and are very happy with it (on Teneriffe a drunk tourist broke our rear window with a whiskey bottle - we got a new car without problems).

This is why we also wanted to book Record on Fuerteventura. Since they don't have own cars on Fuerteventura, they pass the contract on to Orlando, which then provides the car.

On the airport an employee of Orlando waited for us and explained that Orlando charges 5 Euros per day per child seat. It didn't play a role that, according to the Record booking confirmation, child seats are free. The seats were, after all, from Orlando and not from Record, said the employee. Since we needed two of them and rented the car for 14 days, this is a lot of money. But at 10 pm we didn't have many alternatives and so we signed the contract...

On the next day we called Record and they offered us the following solution: Record transferred the extra amount we had paid and additionally we received a discount voucher for the next reservation.

A classical hire car - here a mark, there a mark.
In the first week we had flat tyre in the middle of Corralejo's main road - funny enough just 50 metres away from the local Orlando office. The employee there said that we should use the spare wheel from the trunk. When he realised that we didn't want to change it ourselves he offered that he could do that for us if we had some minutes - logically we had the time.
